General Questions
What are your office hours?
Monday – Friday
8:30am – 5:00pm
Closed for lunch from 12:00-1:30 pm.
Closed most major Holidays.
Although Dr. McBee's office is open Monday through Friday, Dr. McBee is generally operating on Tuesdays and Fridays. Please refer to our Contact Us page for more information.
How do I obtain my lab results?
We will call you with results. It may take up to 1 week after a lab or procedure has been completed for your results. Results need to be evaluated and interpreted on a case by case basis. This may require consultation with a radiologist or other physicians so that Dr. McBee can give you the most accurate interpretation as it pertains to your condition.

How do I get a medication refill?
PLEASE CALL BEFORE YOU RUN OUT OF MEDICATION. Call the pharmacy to refill your prescription; they will contact us to get the approval. We will only refill medications originally prescribed for you by our office. Please allow 48 hours to respond to a request for refills.
All refills, including pain medications can only be refilled during the week. Consult your primary care physician for medications not prescribed by Doctor McBee.
Do you require referrals?
Please comply with your insurance company for referrals from your primary care doctor if that is required. It is your responsibility to get a referral if required.
Scheduling Questions
How do I schedule a surgery/procedure?
If the Doctor has recommended surgery, we will call you within 7 days to schedule your surgery or procedure. If you do not receive a phone call from us in 7 days please call us at 503.691.1743. Please refer to our Contact Us page for more information.
When should I schedule a follow-up appointment?
We will schedule a follow-up appointment with you once we know the date and time of your procedure/surgery. Some procedures like a colonoscopy may not require a follow-up appointment.
Financial Questions
What is your policy on insurance?
Our relationship is with you, the patient, not your insurance company. It is ultimately the patient’s responsibility to know their insurance benefits and eligibility to be seen in this office.
We will submit a claim to the insurance company for which you have provided billing information. If you do not provide us with all the insurance information needed we will bill you directly. If your insurance company denies claims for services provided to you, you will be responsible for payment.
When do I make my co-payment?
Co-payments are due at the time of service. We accept cash or checks only.
Do you accept private payments?
If you have no insurance a $50.00 office charge will be due at the time of visit. Other fees may apply for the office visit which you may pay in full or we will bill you for any outstanding balance. It is the patient's responsibility to make sure that payment is made in full. We accept cash or checks only.

Medical Questions
What does 'general surgery' mean?
Despite its name, general surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal organs, e.g. intestines including esophagus, stomach, colon, liver, gallbladder and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland, hernias, and breast disease.
